  • Server Population

so yeah, there just seems to be less people in Alpha lately. twice when i went to my trade post there was nothing up >. >

and then there's the backbone players leaving the game for whatever reasons...

i remember 2 years ago, when all of my towns had buddies on its islands.

and now, 3 of them are complete loners.

i think ikariam needs to advertise its self >. >, or use what ever methods to increase server population, and especially alpha's population (im not sure about the other servers)

anyone else have the same thoughts?
  • This is from a discussion we were having in Iota.

I didnt get the stats so dont ask me where i got the figures from. Its quite interesting though.

    Alpha - 6,886 players - 4540 active (no-ban, out of god mode)
    Beta - 2,250 players - 1280 active
    Gamma - 2,239 players - 1294 active
    Delta - 2,264 players - 1298 active
    Epsilon - 2,126 players - 1224 active
Zeta - 2,143 players - 1172 active (this is a very boring world, I don't recommend it to anyone, and their board shows their inactivity)
    Eta - 2,128 players - 1219 active
    Theta - 2,214 players - 1178 active
    Iota - 2,129 players - 1216 active
    Kappa - 2,144 players - 1242 active
    Lambda - 2,259 players - 1179 active
    My - 2,190 players - 1185 active
    Ny - 2,253 players - 1184 active
    Xi - 2,871 players - 1951 active
    Omikron - 4,677 players - 3617 active
    Pi - 7,303 players - 5988 active
    Test-Server - 18,191 players - 16508 active (and probably 8000 or so multis)

I saw some stats about board activity too and Iota had the most active boards followed by Alpha in second place.
  • Since your near one of my friends, I can probably guess why you feel Alpha is going inactive. Well, its not, your just in a inactive area of Alpha, if you move towards the center, lets say 50:50, there are plenty of islands with 16, 17 towns on them
  • My alliance is actually going to be trying to help a little with the population. We were going to do this in a couple of months but I think we could start now. That we are going to be doing is - inviting as many of our friends from real life. That would increase the population (if all alliances do it) and it would make the game alot more fun because your playing with your friends. It won't help if it's just my alliance but if all alliance do it then we could boost the population. Although we can't expect a quick growth although over the long-run we could boost the population of Alpha by a good amount.
  • word on the street is loads of the players from the Vietnamese servers have started here due to .vn closing down

one of the things they wanted people's opinion on in the server was if people wanted them to merge world's together

that would certainly spice things up
  • We need to do something about it guys.. maybe we can invite other players in other servers to also play here in ALPHA, we also need to invite players in RL that don't get bored a lot.. lots of players gets bored that is why lots are inactive..
