Hello Contestants,
I'm happy to be here again after so loooong time. We will have the opportunity to interact for a couple of weeks: I'll monitor this thread all day long, and I'll try, when needed, to answer ASAP to everything you post. Be lenient on night-shift... I too have to sleep
Well, are you ready to start? This evening I wish to give you all a little help more, since this is the first question. So... I'll publish it about an hour before midnight. Deadline for answer submission will be - as usual - 07 Dec @ 23:59 German time.
Ok, ok, the truth is that I forgot laptop's charger downstairs. And yes, I'm a little lazy, and battery will not operate until midnight...

There will almost always be no tie at the end. The math gets harder in some questions and some questions will be worth more. Last year the top 50 we're close but only a few ties.

Well this is my first year doing the Christmas contest but that first question was easy, but your right the future questions will probably be harder

so, for the questions that involve math are we supposed to supply a detailed calculation and description, or should we only post up the answer? I can do it either way but just wanted to make sure i'm using the correct format

Well I've participated in all Christmas competitions (2011 - 2012 - and now in 2013).
In 2011 I didn't answer some questions since I've forgotten about the contest
and couldn't get an acceptable score.
But at 2012 I got the second rank.
Hope to become the first this year
By the way, winning the competition is not my main goal. My first priority to improve my knowledge in the game and that can be done by searching and trying to answer the questions.

Technically you can get your points of you give right answer. But if wrong you'd get none. If you show your work then you can get partial credit.
