As Dreadnought did not have any units left to hold on to the main battle line, the rest of the army has withdrawn.

As I mentioned to my alliance mates last week, I'm going into v-mode because of an extended trip to India. Good luck to all for the rest of the war....but I'm pretty sure MEH is going to continue to jab & retreat as it is an effective means to win a damage war. Unfortunately, it is also an effective way to bore your opponents into not being interested in engaging, hence my retreat today against CO2 and lordh.

Have fun storming the castle, boys...but nobody will be home.

To be clear: When I came to your island, I did withdraw from some battles and I did use Colossus once for tactical reasons. However, I did NOT run...you did. Once you were not able to put in your flame ships any more, you withdrew AND YOU RAN AWAY FROM THE ISLAND. There is a HUGE difference between a tactical retreat and completely moving your forces far away.

Which is what you guys have done time and time again. Guess what? My forces stayed on your island...and I waited...and waited. I waited for DAYS and you didn't come back until AFTER I left.

You were going to do the same thing this past time. Once the battle got to the point that you were starting to lose in the damage part, you would have withdrawn and moved your forces far away. Why would I bother?

I don't care about withdrawing...a tactical retreat makes sense. But the MOMENT you guys start to lose the damage part of the battle, you withdraw AND run away. I had no reason to think that you weren't going to do that again, so I opted to not engage in your cat and mouse games.

Listen, you guys use sound tactics to win a damage war. No doubt about it. But, please don't sit there and make it sound like you don't withdraw and move your forces away when you start to lose the damage part of the war. You ALWAYS do that...every time.

Boredom overcomes me...I don't need such a tedious war.

Dear Bodude, I usually don’t engage in discussions on the boards but the argumentation you use just doesn’t make much sense. Retreating has always been a fundamental aspect of war and any attack in general. One attacks the enemy in order to force a breakthrough but if the attack is repelled one has to retreat. There is no point in losing valuable units on an attack which stands no chance. One retreats to reorganize and plan a new attack that stands a chance. And that’s exactly what we ‘ve been doing. Suddenly you moved your city again though and far away this time. That postponed our plans ofcourse. You seem to forget that most players have to travel great distances in this game in contrary to your ambrosia fueled teleporting.

After last weekend battles we now know what we are more or less up against. Our military had to be adjusted if we were going to have at least the chance of winning both fleet as groundwise. Our last weekend attack had been repelled. We could not have hurt you in ground termes. You had far more units than us. Then Veludo moved an entire city to the island as well. If we had stayed or continued our attack our land armies would ‘ve been completely destroyed. And with Nemesis and Dreadnaught’s ships showing up we had to protect our rear so our ground units wouldn’t to get trapped on the island. I don’t think any military commander in RL would continue an attack in these conditions.

I’m surprised you got ‘bored’ with it though and wonder what we then had to do that could ‘ve released you from your boredom. Continue to blindly bump into your massive army and wall until our outnumbered armies were completely destroyed? Seriously? And if you get bored because nobody attacks your city for a few days you can always go on the attack yourself. What do you think we’ve been doing all this time? If we all would fight like you, stationary in one of our towns, waiting for someone to hit us then there wouldn’t have been many CR’s to post here I’m afraid.

With all your ambrosia to spend you obviously don’t have to worry about trivial things as how do I get the sulphur I need for building those troops? You can’t imagine having to put energy in building up mobiles, having to travel great distances to set sth up, having to plan attacks in hostile territory without a fortress and 8 AP you can just take along, and instantly place where ever you want on the map. If you did you would understand it takes time to prepare an attack on 130k GS.

You running away this time without even putting up a fight says it all with this war. What is the use of 130k GS if you either use colosus in round 2 or just run away? You were online and had nothing to loose. You could ‘ve reacted. You would have fought in your own city. You could ‘ve played with the wall. We had a ground army ready to go flat out and see where we’d end. Instead all we encountered was a giant dusk cloud of 130k GS hastly on the run. Fleet out, troops out. Even forgetting 20 mortar ships in the rush.



We fought or should I say try to fight you 2 times (so where do you get that we ‘run’ away time and time again? We only had 1 battle yet?) and you disappointed us twice. Talking about boredom…

Sure, we retreat- not sure how that prevents you from fighting. I traveled a day to hit Metallus and Sesh and they weren't there. Moved on! Moved to hit IRNWKR, nothing there either. Moved on! I've hit every player in NWA except IceDest, I think, who vmoded for R/L reasons before I had the chance. Sitting in your towns waiting for us...? Not sure what you expected us to do when NWA magicked 200k Gen into one island. Guess just jump in like lemmings without a shot?

In big battles, you want to let the opponent think he has the hope of winning, right until you floor him after he overcommits...moving Veludo's town a few rounds in? That's a huge waste of the element of surprise. Ah well. If I were you, I would have let 3-4 of us engage, wait the hours for us to go sleep, and attempt to slaughter us with a late-game Veludo mobile.

Meh. Your 2nd round Colossus suggests you'd rather demoralize us so we don't even bother fighting. Not sure why CO2/LG tried really after all that signalling.

No worries, still a few skirmishes to be had.

All I wanted was my "epic" battle from Omega, but he kinda left me there with nothing to do. Oh well. A "fun" war has turned to crap just like always.

Hey, all I was saying is that you guys are good @ the "hit and run" damage game. You all seem much more emotionally invested in this war than I am.

I have years of success in this game with many CRs that demonstrate that I can fight well. I'm fine with my play style and results.

You all can continue to say as you wish...no biggie for me.
