  • Strange battle outcome? Bug?

    So, a colleague was attacked and even though he had a level 11 wall (very good for a 20k account), he lost more units than the attacker.
    Both of them had the hoplites upgraded to max and catapults with no upgrade. He had archers and doctors on his side, the attacker had 4 catapults more, no archers or doctors.
    I posted below the complete report and a report for each round.

  • It's because of the way the walls are breached:

    round 1 7 hop blocks vs 7 wall blocks - a few hops die
    round 2 7 hop blocks vs 2 hop blocks - the 2 blocks of hops get hit by 7 and take higher casualties as a result
    round 3 7 hop blocks vs 4 hop blocks - again the 4 blocks get hit by 7 and lose more

    If there had been a round 4 then it would have been 7 hop blocks vs 7 hop blocks and the damage should have been (more) even (archers will kill a few and having 18 catapults rather than 14 will mean they will kill 4 more)

    Basically as the wall is breached in stages for a period of time the defender has less troops on the field vs more troops so loses more.

    4 extra catapults should not make such a big difference also.
    Unfortunately it is true...so you will have to figure out how to go around it...like don't have your front line in battle before the wall is down..that way you can kill hops without losing yours...but be very careful, cause if they take your wall down completely everything behind it dies(cats and archers)...My advise..don't build walls till you can get them to higher level...

    Ohh and do NOT build archers! They are useless...have more hops and swords or cats instead. Archers do 5 damage...hops have 1 armour + 3 if upgraded..which means archers do 5-4=1 damage...hops have 56 health...so it takes 56 archers (that is if they all shoot at the same one hop..and their accuracy ain't that high) to kill 1 hop if that....Archers cost 4 gold upkeep..much better to have hops/swords/full line of catapults.....just wait till you research the sulph carab.
