Your Ikariam Team

  • It makes perfect sense.
    Un-upgraded Spearmen have:
    13 HP
    0 Armor
    4 DMG

    If upgraded they'll have:
    13 HP
    3 Armor
    7 DMG

    Now with forge and upgrades:
    13 HP
    5 Armor
    8.4 DMG

Armorvalues in Ikariam are directly deducted from individual hits. This means that every attack the upgraded spearman with forge is hit by, is being reduced by 5. So assuming full board of 350 spearmen in the frontline, he is taking:
(4-5)*350 dmg. This of course being beyond 0, means the spearman in question is unharmed. An un-upgraded hoplite with their base dmg of 18 however, would of killed the spearman in one hit since: 18-5=13 dmg taken, just enough to kill a spearman.

Ok cheers that’s the maths behind it. But logically it makes 0 sense. Like I fancy 500 spearman to beat 1 unit of anything. Like seriously. Hey ho
