    • What will happen to special board ranks like "elite member" "MOTM", "SOTW" and etc.?
      Will they be rechanged that others could know from with board section they are or something else? Asking because "elite member" is known only on this board but in other boards it's unknown or its called somehow else.

      Right now Elite member does not exist on the new forum - as Board accounts are not being transferred - users are to register on the new forum. - Being an elite member there was certain criteria to have been met to have that rank.

      as for Fan Art ranks I am awaiting to hear more information in regards to this.

    • Forum migration - keep the old board running longer than 6 weeks

      Just a small point but keeping the old board running for only six weeks to copy over posts etc is a very short time. Those on vacation could easily miss it. Please keep the old board running rather longer - 3 months seems about right.

    • I am not on the board side, but as the name says "post count" it is a number that represent the number of posts. No post means number is zero.
      What can be set, is the sections in which posts can be counted and this is to exclude spam like "Male vs Female", "Count to 33333", "What movie you see", etc.

    • Will the new forum have a new web address? If so, will this one remain - just locked like old worlds are now.

      What I mean is that after a break of almost 7 years I came back to the game - purely because I reread some of the old NY posts and that got me all nostalgic for the game so came back. It would be a hell of a shame if all of that old stuff gets deleted.

      Yes, there will be a new address. The current board will remain in a read-only mode for a while to give you (and us - teamlers) to save the important content and bring it to the new board.

      6 weeks is more than enough, I think to save all the necessary info. A similar deadline has been in place also for the previously merged boards, e.g.: BattleKnight and KingsAge, so most likely it won't be changed.

      So, we no longer have to declare wars to removed the bashing rules AND our post counts go away. No more boards for me. Later all. See you in game.

    • I realize that. It was the main reason for decline in board participation. With the exception of me, no one in my alliance has really bothered with the boards since then. Eliminating the bashing rule and taking away a need to declare war was the first proverbial nail in the coffin...it made the boards merely a social locale and took any true game import that they had away. Now, those of us that aren't social chatterboxes and that actually enjoy the game and not just exhibiting our affliction of having diarrhea of the mouth, lose our post counts that have taken a multitude of years to build-up. I realize that not a soul at GameForge actually give two craps about what their customers say and that I am merely venting....but this SUCKS!

      Quite right about the no-bashing = Gauntlet war = no-board.
      Then the multis = piracy = no-war = no-socialising = no-need-for-board.
      Then the new-servers = quick-money = who-cares-about-the-board.
      Then came the no-ending-ingame-discount-events = GFIkariam-need-more-money = lets-just-skip-the-board.

      The signs were there a long long time ago, I'm surprised this 'international' board didn't come earlier. Should have been here when we had this 'new' Wbb4 board.

      You really think there's any nostalgic feeling left with those old posts? Anyone really look into HoFs? Anyone really understood the battle system?

      I totally agree with you. Ikariam is really good game,even if it is old, we still love to play it. However some decisions made by GameForge are totally judged by players, but sometimes I judged it too . Anyway, big boss always made a right moves regarding this community, so I hope that this one will be one of them too :)
